A 45km walking track extending along the Ruahine Ranges, from Wharite Peak north of Ashhurst through the Tararua Ranges to Arapuke Park south of Palmerston North. Showcasing iconic views of the region, the track will traverse a variety of landforms along the way.

The track will connect into the Coppermine Creek track in the north and notably, Burttons Track in the south which is part of the Te Araroa trail leading all the way to Paraparaumu. It will use predominately existing publicly owned tracks or road reserve.
